Circle IPO takeaways and Zelle's roadmap to the next trillion
👋 Hi all! Welcome back to another episode of Fintech Stuff.
And welcome back to another episode of Rex and Simon Talk Fintech too! After a short hiatus, Simon and I hopped back on to talk about all things IPOs, specifically Circle. With its surge post IPO, are stabelcoins for real or mostly hype? Check it out!
And my interview with Denise Leonhard, the head of Zelle, is live too. Zelle recently crossed $1 trillion in annual payments, easily making them the largest P2P payment network in the United States. Bigger than CashApp and Venmo combined.
But they don’t get much airtime in the fintech community.
Denise dives into what has enabled Zelle to outpace their rivals and also how she thinks about growth in the future. Part of that growth story may even include opening up what has been a closed network.
In the future, could a fintech partner neobank like a Chime for example partner with zelle to offer real time consumer payments? We’ll find out!
